Overall, this was an immensely strong and effective anthology. The fact that the stories are all centered around specific objects like this one, while still allowing for a solid variety of topics and themes throughout, gives this a strong starting point to introduce the array of writers present. That keeps the stories surprising and engaging, with the cast of characters presented in the stories becoming instantly likable in short spaces that help to expand the themes found in the stories, as that matches the different settings for the stories as well. With things ranging from space horror to a drug trip gone wrong and a classic Faustian bargain gone wrong within the confines of a heavy metal horror story, this is a standout collection that brings a nice bit of variety and features some inventive objects to fit the theme of the anthology even if some of the chosen objects require a lot of work to make them something to be feared if they truly were haunted.
