Can the survivors get to safety and raise the alarm before they are wiped out? Follow the characters from the town of Clifton Falls as they battle the zombie hordes trying to destroy them, in this action-packed final part of the series.
This was a fairly enjoyable addition to the series. Much of that stems from the solid ability to keep the action going at a frenetic clip, saving this much in the same way that the previous film offered up plenty of zombie action. From the opening half, working through the rescue operation of the survivors still on the ship who are targeted by the creatures in numerous encounters as they work their way through the ship to find the stragglers and try to save them from their encounters with the creatures, to the series of military operations in the town looking for survivors left in the zombie-infested ruins or the other creatures that are introduced here which feature some immensely chilling work here with the sight of the creatures leaving others unable and unwilling to fight them off. It leaves a strong impression with how ferocious and savage the creatures are during these interactions, which manage to bring about some solid scenes with a lot to like.
Additionally, this one still features the kind of storyline elements that help tie the whole franchise together. As we still get to visit the characters in the hospital who are looking to find the truth about the strange chemical spread that’s unleashing the undead and the soldiers tackling the small-town remains left behind looking for get the survivors to safety, the book goes for a strong connection to what’s going on in the world at large with the continuing efforts to get the zombies taking care in a logical throughline. This helps to make for an epic overarching storyline by looking into the different issues that have been brought up throughout the series, as there’s not only the exploration of the town to figure out the cause of the outbreak, but also visiting the hospital so that they can continue their work with the captured zombies to find a cure. This carries these storylines together rather nicely, and while there’s some bizarre work to play out in the final half, so it feels somewhat overlong, there’s still a lot to like here.
